Design for Countersinking
Specify the angle and depth clearly so the screw sits flush.
Angle Match
The countersink angle must match the screw head: 82° for ANSI, 90° for DIN/ISO. A mismatch leaves a gap.
Depth
The countersink must be deep enough for the head to sit flush but not so deep it weakens the material.
Edge Distance
Keep the countersink centre ≥ 2× major diameter from any edge to prevent blowout.
